Our Pictureless Playday

I always 'just knew' that my kids would be great skiers some day. Unfortunately, I never 'knew' that it would cost a fortune each and every time we wanted to take them skiing. So with their once or maybe twice a year ski trips, my kids may turn out to be average skiers. This year just wasn't looking good for them at all since it's already the middle of March and we haven't been at all. Good fortune smiled down on us Saturday though. First of all, we found out that our local ski resort which is only a 30 minute drive, was offering free skiing every afternoon for the rest of this month. The problem is, they aren't exactly known for having a lot of snow. But that was where good fortune smiled down again...it snowed a couple of inches just before we arrived, and at least three more inches while we were there. It was absolutely lovely...and FREE. They didn't even charge us for Tannon and Myah's rentals. Yep, Myah tried out skiing for the first time. She did great, considering she's only 3 years old. Tannon, on the other hand... Looking at the positive side, I'm really not worried about Tannon giving in to peer pressure...not ever. He won't even let me pressure him to do something that he doesn't want to do. Last year we had him skiing and this year he wanted NOTHING to do with it. Maybe next year. So all in all, we had a great ski day! After we got home, we made TONS of homemade fries with fry sauce, and managed to eat ourselves silly! Unfortunately, we enjoyed our fun family day without taking even a single picture! Bummer.

Thats sounds like a good time! I have only been skiing once. Maybe again someday.

So glad you got to go. My boys were so glad to see you up there. They could not stop talking about it. With the free thing going on it might be fun to get them up there again.

You dared to let Myah ski? Your lucky she didn't break another bone. With her track record, she should never leave the house. Then again... isn't that where most of her accidents happen?

The last comment was not Maria. It was me, Jordan.
