Here's To The Little Elves!

Wow, it feels like time is flying way too fast! We just flew right into Thanksgiving, and now we're preparing the house for Christmas! I remember back in the day, how totally exciting it was to pull all of the Christmas decorations down from the attic, and to run through the house decorating things just how I thought they ought to be decorated. And how patient my mom was in telling us that everything looked just perfect...but then later that night some little elves must have snuck into our house and moved everything around because by the next morning, it just didn't look the way we had left it! So now I understand that rather than be frustrated, it's best just to let the kids decorate things however they want, and to smile and tell them what a great job they did. Then, after bedtime, those same little elves will sneak in and change things all around! So I'm assuming I'm with many mom's around the world when I say, let's pull out the Martinelli's later tonight and give a special toast to the 'little elves'. It's all just so magical!

That's funny. We were just pulling out our decorations tonight and I was ready to pull my hair out! Daniel was into everything and wanted to put things in the most bizarre of places, but then I decided I'd just let it be for now. Oh the wisdom of your mother.

Love your tree. I don't think I have ever seen it. I guess we need to visit your way sometime!

Same here Kelli! I had the same experience! I had to tell myself that the whole reason we have the tree and the decorations is to make memories for them, not to have the best looking tree around! But I admit to fixing it all when they went to bed too! :)

Sadly my kids notice when I move the stuff- and won't help me anymore.

They help with the nativity and Christmas candy though.....

These are awesome decorating pictures. I never have such luck with tree-decorating pictures. I always get their backsides with arm extended holding out ornaments. It's great pull out scrapbooks and see how much the back of their heads change from year to year.
Cute blog, Kelli!
